Detail Price Index
Detail Price Index publishes what mobile detailing and ceramic coating cost by city. Every price is dated and labeled estimated or measured. A full mobile detail runs an estimated $150–$300 plus a $25–$50 trip fee. A 5-year ceramic coating runs an estimated $900–$1,400, as of July 2026.
Once a metro has providers we have checked, we point you at ones who work there. None are listed yet.
Yelp and Angi rank providers and print no price. National estimators print one price and name no city. We print a dated city price now, and add the providers as each metro clears the bar.
Estimated from regional averages, as of July 2026. Zero of our 5 seed metros are measured yet. Estimates, not binding quotes. How we source and label prices.

Measured or estimated — we print which
Every price carries one of two labels. We never blend them.
Estimated from regional averages. We take a national price band and multiply it by a city labor factor. That factor comes from metro wage and cost-of-living data. It is a model, not a quote. As of July 2026 it covers every price here, in all 5 seed metros. Zero are measured. We print that count instead of a trust badge.
Based on N local quotes in {city} (updated {date}). A city earns this label at 3 real quotes. Each quote names the service tier, the vehicle class, and a month inside the last 12. At 3 we print the count. We also report the median in place of the modeled band. One forum thread never becomes a headline number.
Prices car owners report paying or being quoted stay separate from our estimates, and we name the source. The $2,700 figure people repeat online is ceramic plus full-front paint film. That is a bundle price, not a coating price (r/Rivian, Phoenix, April 2026, measured). Strip the film out and the coating share lands near $1,200–$1,500 — our decomposition of that one quote, not a published figure, and above the $900–$1,400 we model. Mixing the two talks buyers out of a fair quote.

What we are not
We list no providers yet. We will not pad a list with names we have not checked. No ratings. No reviews. No badges we did not earn. You cannot book a detailer here today, and we will not pretend otherwise. There is no quote form and no phone field on this site. Want a nudge when your metro goes live? Email is all we ask for.
A working detailer reviews the method. We credit the role, not a name.
Detail Price Index is a directory and lead router, not the detailer. Listings may be paid, and we mark them when that starts. Prices are estimated from regional averages, dated July 2026. They are not binding quotes. See our disclosures and terms.
